A Little About Me

I grew up in a suburb of Detroit and was raised by my artistic mother. My mother encouraged me to be creative and was one of the vital forces in my life driving me to be an artist. Another important influence was one of my grandmother's sisters, my Aunt Lee. Every summer we would pile into the car and visit her down in Kentucky. She was an avid oil painter, mostly prefering to paint landscapes. I vividly remember picking through her paints, assorted brushes and spending time studying her colorful paintings. She was an amazing woman.

When I graduated, I spent a good amount of time hanging around in local tattoo shops, amazed and terrified at the idea of creating wearable, permanent art. Eventually, after a good amount of searching for just the right sensei, I found my teacher and apprenticed for two years. Over the course of my journey, I've found that it's not only the tattoo itself, but the experience that matters within this process. It's important to me to make sure that my clients are happy participants in the creation of their tattoo. It is a collaboration and that's what I enjoy most.

I enjoy tattooing in a variety of styles, but mainly specialize in color. Some of my favorite projects involve anything colorful, painterly, nature inspired and organic. I love to take on anything that challenges me.
